Kameti

How it works

A Kameti circle is a rotating savings agreement between people who know each other. The app keeps the ledger; the money always moves directly between members.

1. The group agrees on one number

Say five friends pick ₹2,000 a month. That is the contribution. Every member pays the same amount, every month, for exactly as many months as there are members. Try your own numbers in the calculator.

2. Each round, one member takes the pot

Every month the group pools ₹10,000 (5 × ₹2,000) and one member receives all of it. The order is agreed by the group — by bid, by lottery, or by need — and the app records it so nobody has to remember or argue.

3. Early or late, everyone gets exactly one pot

Members who take the pot early get their lump sum sooner and keep contributing until the end. Members who wait effectively save first and receive a full pot at the end. Over the whole cycle every member pays in exactly what they can take out: 5 × ₹2,000 = ₹10,000.

4. Payments go member-to-member

The app shows who has paid this round; you confirm UPI transfers or cash within the app. Money never touches Kameti — there is no wallet, no pool account, and no fee. The app is the shared notebook, not the bank.

5. The circle closes clean

After the final round every member has contributed their share and received exactly one pot. The circle completes with a full, transparent history — and the group can start the next one.

The three rules that keep circles honest

  • Invite-only: circles form by invite links between people who know each other — no strangers from a marketplace.
  • One pot per member: the rotation ends only when every member has received the pot once.
  • Shared ledger: contributions, payouts, and confirmations are visible to all members, not just the organiser.
